Playgrounds in Kyoto

For being a super advanced country with technology and innovation in some of the oddest places, Kyoto seems to have a lot of really old-school playgrounds. Both of these playgrounds are near the Gion area, in case you are wondering where you can hang out and drink beer (anyone else have "the dream of the 90's are alive in portland" stuck in their head when they see these playgrounds?) Here are a couple playgrounds we have come across in our wonderings.

Metal slides and tires (how do you even play on those tires?!)...can you say 1970's? Hide yo kids, hide yo wives, these places are creepy!
